TALIENS – European law firm in IP, Tech and Media

TALIENS was founded in April 2017 by four partners from Germany and France (Dr Thomas Lynker, Dr Monika Stöhr, Jean-Frédéric Gaultier and Clara Steinitz) as a pan-European boutique firm. The legal press described the formation as “in many respects the most significant event in the European market” and the boutique as “one of the most interesting law firms of the year”.

TALIENS was and is established as an ‘IP only’ firm with a true cross-border practice. The success of this approach has resulted in a practice that has grown to more than 20 attorneys in our Munich and Paris offices within the first five years. We are proud to represent a wide range of domestic and international clients, from start-ups to industry giants, from all kinds of industries, including technology, consumer goods, medical devices, media and entertainment, automotive, fashion, energy, cosmetics and food/beverage. We advise on all aspects of intellectual property law (apart from patent prosecution). In particular:

  • litigating complex disputes in relation to patents, know-how,
    copyrights, trademarks, designs, domains and unfair competition;
  • providing target-oriented strategic advice in all intellectual property
    matters;
  • drafting and negotiating agreements (such as development,
    production, financing, licensing, accrual and collaboration
    agreements); and
  • managing trademark, design and domain portfolios.

The frequently recommended patent litigation team is particularly proud to be already involved in patent infringement and patent revocation cases before the Unified Patent Court (Central and Local Divisions). With a pan-European setup in our DNA, we are very much looking forward to further activities in this new era of European patent litigation (see also https://taliens.com/map/)

All TALIENS partners have in-depth experience in handling cross-border litigation for international clients but are equally committed to assist domestic clients and SMEs. As a firm, we not only provide profound and pragmatic high-quality legal advice, but we have also a deep understanding of the industries in which we specialize. This is appreciated by our clients who call us “dynamic, highly responsive and patent-savvy” and send us their “complex cases” that we handle with “very good service” and “high quality”.

All TALIENS partners also have multi-year experience in the intellectual property, media or technology groups of leading international law firms. We are therefore able to combine the quality standard of an international law firm with the flexibility, responsiveness and client focus of a boutique.

Besides our offices in Munich and Paris, TALIENS is well connected to specialized colleagues worldwide.
