Iain is a full time mediator with extensive experience, both as a solicitor and a mediator, in a wide range of commercial and property disputes including; Landlord and tenant disputes (commercial and residential) including break notices, service charge obligations and dilapidations and other breaches of covenant Opposed and unopposed business tenancy renewals Boundaries, rights of way and other easements Restrictive covenants Rights of light Property joint ventures and vendor and purchaser disputes Solicitors negligence Profit share and overage provisions Misrepresentation Co-ownership, constructive and implied trusts and inheritance claims

Prior to becoming a full time mediator six years ago, Iain was head of the Real Estate Disputes practices at two leading London firms, Nabarro LLP and Ashurst LLP, where he was ranked both as a Leading Individual and a Band One property litigator for more than 20 years. Iain led teams on many leading cases and worked closely with his transactional colleagues in providing strategic and dispute avoidance advice. Iain also has experience in a number of other roles which have helped him develop the skills necessary to be a successful mediator, including being the chairman of a contributory pension scheme, an Arbitrator appointed by the National Basketball Association and FIBA, and the executive chairman of a small property company. Iain uses his experience to understand the true position of both parties and believes in encouraging clients to be involved in the mediation, and has years of experience in gaining the cooperation of those working within, and in helping to resolve problems.
