Heiner Albiez holds a Ph.D. in biology and is a qualified German and European Patent Attorney. At Zimmermann & Partner, he is in particular active in the technical fields of medical technology, biotechnology, genetic engineering, pharmacology, and food technology. He represents clients in examination, opposition, nullity and appeal proceedings before the German and European patent offices in patent and utility model matters, and before the German Federal Patent Court, as well as in litigation proceedings before the German National Courts.

Heiner studied biology at the University of Göttingen, the University of Vienna and the Ludwig Maximilians University of Munich. During his university years, Heiner received a scholarship for highly gifted students from the Aventis Foundation in the field of pharmacogenomics. He received his PhD in the field of human genetics at the Ludwig Maximilians University of Munich.
