Jan Hartmann is a Partner in Fieldfisher´s Dusseldorf office and Head of the Corporate Practice Group in Germany, advising on M&A transactions, restructuring projects and contentious proceedings.

His practice focuses on cross-border transactions as well as private equity and venture capital mandates.

In addition, he regularly advises on restructuring projects, reorganisations and corporate disputes as well as in the area of directors' and officers' liability.

Many of the transactions he advises on have a cross-border element or a high degree of structuring complexity. He also covers fundraising processes and the implementation of employee participation programmes.

His clients include national and international corporations, financial institutions, private equity funds and private clients, especially from the Payment, Technology and Automotive industries as well as the Healthcare sector.

His work is regularly recognised by JUVE, where he is recommended as an M&A expert.

Prior to joining Fieldfisher, he worked for law firms in Germany, New York and London since his admission to the bar in 2003.

He advises his clients in German and English.

He has been a member of Fieldfisher's supervisory board since 2018 and Head of the Corporate Practice Group in Germany since 2022.
